Dickinson
You’re invited to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Dickinson-in-France program with Dickinson alumni, faculty, staff and friends. This celebration offers a unique opportunity for reconnecting, reminiscing, networking and engaging in meaningful conversations about the importance of international experiences for our students, faculty and staff. The Dickinson-in-France program was created in 1983 through the inspired shared vision of Dickinson’s Sylvie G. Davidson and the University of Toulouse’s Danielle Cabanis. The first group of Dickinson students enrolled at the University of Toulouse during the 1984-85 academic year. As of 2025, a robust network of more than 600 Dickinsonians have participated in Dickinson-in-France programs, developing a unique intercultural skill set through immersion and local engagement.During the past 40 years, Dickinson has developed valued partnerships and exchanges with multiple universities in Toulouse. Students and scholars from those institutions have studied, researched or taught in Carlisle as exchange students, French-department assistants or visiting faculty and administrators.Thursday, June 5 7:30 p.m. Cocktail Reception Restaurant Le Moaï in the Muséum de Toulouse35 allées Jules Guesde, 31000 ToulouseJoin Melissa Sturm-Smith, Dickinson’s senior associate provost for integrated academic success, and Dickinson alumni for a 40th-anniversary celebration with representatives from partnering local universities, homestay hosts, Dickinson Center professors and internship/volunteer hosts.FreePlease register by Monday, May 19.
